A History Rooted in
Faith & Perseverance
The Foundation (1949)
Founded in 1949, the Albanian Moslem Society of Shepparton began as a small group of visionary pioneers who sought to preserve their cultural and religious identity in a new land.
Building the Mosque (1960)
In 1960, the community's dream was realized with the construction of Victoria's first mosque. It became a beacon of unity and a sanctuary for prayer.
Growth & Integration
Over decades, we have evolved from a small migrant group into an integral part of the Shepparton community, contributing to its rich multicultural tapestry.

The Shepparton Mosque has been the spiritual heart of our community since 1949. Built by Albanian Muslim immigrants who settled in the Goulburn Valley, it stands as a testament to their faith, sacrifice, and determination to preserve their identity in a new land.
